General Information: The third gernartion of Trane Communications Interface (TCI-3) incorporates both communications capabilities of the TCI-1 (Isolated Com 3) and TCI-2 (Non-Isolated Com 3 or Com 4) boards. The TCI-3 uses the original base board as used with TCI-1 and TCI-2 but now has an additional board (Com Link Board) mounted to it for chooseing the communication link option to be used.
This Com Link Board can be positioned for Isolated Com 3 communications between Voyager Mirco Rooftop units and Tracer 100 Series panels, Tracker, or ComforTrac units. This is the typical application for the TCI-3 board, therefore it is mounted and shipped as such.
Bt turning the Com Link Board 90 degrees, the Voyager Micro Rooftop communications option now becomes Non-Isolated Com 3 or Com 4 and can be used to communicate with Comfort Managers (I or II) and Tracer Summit systems.
